Spring into Sustainable Gardening: Gardening on Country Tools Now Available at Bunnings

Gardening on Country, a proudly First Nations-owned brand leading the way in sustainability and circular design, is excited to announce that its eco-friendly garden tools are now available at selected Bunnings stores across Victoria.

Founded in 2023, Gardening on Country was created with a mission to reduce plastic waste, support local manufacturing, and care for Country for generations to come. With spring in full bloom, there’s no better time to get your hands in the soil — and now, you can do it with purpose.

Each tool is crafted in Australia from 100% post-consumer recycled plastic — transforming waste into durable, beautifully designed products. To date, the brand has repurposed over one million bottle caps into functional, planet-friendly tools.

“We’re proud to bring our products to Bunnings customers and make sustainable choices more accessible to gardeners across Victoria,” said Mitchell Skuta, Founder of Gardening on Country. “Our tools are a practical way to care for your garden while also caring for Country.”

The range includes the Womby Hand Trowel and the Casso Hand Fork — each lightweight at just 150 grams and measuring 30 cm in length. Built for comfort and durability, every tool diverts 75 plastic bottle caps from landfill and features a bright, easy-to-spot colour so you’ll never lose it in the garden.

These eco-conscious tools are available now at selected Bunnings stores across Victoria, just in time for the peak gardening season.

Adding to the excitement, Gardening on Country has also been named a finalist in Business Builders Australia’s Favourite Family Business Awards. Selected from hundreds of entrants, the brand is one of just 20 Australian family businesses in the running. Public voting is now open on the Business Builders website.
